Residency Accessibility

At Gothe Residency of the Arts, we are committed to ensuring essential accessibility features in our residency facilities, aiming to meet the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Further, we vow to remain vigilant, seeking out advancements in accessibility, and pledging to evolve as understanding and technologies do. In the solemn assembly of the arts, we extend our hand to all creators. With the steadfast support of our Patrons, Community, and the guiding light of legal and ethical standards, we shall not rest until the doors of creation swing wide for every artist who may wish to be a part of our unique artist-in-residence experience.

Financial Accessibility

Gothe Residency of the Arts pledges to devote its resources to ensuring we have the opportunity to welcome in artists of all financial situations.

To ensure that artists of all backgrounds and financial situations feel within reach of the GROTA experience, we have committed to bringing all residency fees to the lowest operational cost for our applicants. We understand that finances unfairly hold many artists back from connecting with like minded creators and exploring new creative avenues. We are a team of dark spirited artists who have struggled firsthand with early and mid-career financial strains and hardships, and from chis we empathize deeply with artists who often feel excluded from the experiences and opportunities traditional Artist Residencies offer.

GROTA will be pledging its own resources to reduce operation costs, as well as looking to partner with grant companies and dark-spirited businesses seeking to support our cause in anyway. We hope in time to generate additional or even all residency funding with the help of our Patreon supporters.

Community Accessibility

Community Accessibility—More than just a residency

Over the past year, Al content has become an undeniably threatening presence to the spirit of art communities, and amongst other matters, artists and artful people (in all that they do for the world) are well overdue for a beacon of hope. Gothe Residency of the Arts wishes to emerge as an epicenter for the dark creative spirits of the world.

We have always stood as more than just a Residency. Beyond the residency itself, our mission is to create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming artistic community.

Our Community Discord (available through Patreon—or via DM upon request) further enriches our digital connection; welcoming the same dark-spirited creativity that our residency hopes to foster and unite in its seasonal residents. Here we have begun to offer an experience that rejuvenates the dark creative essence, fostering connections among artists and their creative values.

We host monthly Movie Nights and Discussions, Game Nights, community challenges, and so much more—and as our resources expand, we will continuously expand on ways for our community to connect, create, collaborate and inspire one another.
